2. Scope and Manuscript Suitability
JEMPI publishes scholarly work that makes a substantive contribution to educational management, policy, governance, leadership, quality assurance, institutional development, organizational behavior, educational resources, digital transformation, and innovation in educational organizations. Manuscripts must clearly demonstrate their relevance to the journal's Focus and Scope.
Manuscripts that only discuss classroom teaching methods, learning media, subject-specific learning outcomes, or instructional-material development without a substantive implication for educational management, leadership, policy, governance, organization, quality, or innovation are not considered the primary focus of JEMPI.
3. Language
-
Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian.
-
An article written in Indonesian must include an Indonesian abstract and an English abstract.
-
An article written in English requires an English abstract only; an Indonesian abstract is not required.
-
Authors are responsible for clear, academic, grammatically appropriate language.
4. Originality, Exclusive Submission, and Similarity Screening
Submitted manuscripts must be original, must not have been published previously, and must not be under consideration by another journal at the same time. All ideas, data, quotations, tables, figures, and other materials originating from other sources must be appropriately attributed.
JEMPI conducts similarity screening as part of editorial evaluation. An overall similarity level of 20% or lower is generally used as an editorial guide, not as an automatic acceptance or rejection threshold. Editors assess the source, location, pattern, and context of detected similarity.
5. Double-Blind Peer Review and Anonymized File
JEMPI applies double-blind peer review. Authors must prepare an anonymized review file. Names, affiliations, acknowledgments, self-identifying statements, file properties, or other information that could reveal the authors' identities should be removed from the review version where necessary.
Manuscripts that proceed to external review are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewer recommendations inform, but do not automatically determine, the final editorial decision.

6.1 Title
The title must be concise, specific, and informative, with a maximum of 14 words. It should accurately represent the main focus of the study and may communicate the central finding when appropriate to the research design. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and overly broad wording.
6.2 Author Names, Affiliations, ORCID, and Corresponding Author
Write each author's full name without academic degrees. State the study program/department, institution, and country. The corresponding author must be clearly identified and provide an active email address. ORCID iD is optional; authors without ORCID should not display placeholder numbers.
6.3 Abstract
The abstract must be a single paragraph of 150–250 words and understandable without reference to the main text. It should state the research purpose or problem, method/design, data or participants where relevant, principal findings, and conclusion or implication. Do not include citations, tables, figures, footnotes, or undefined abbreviations.
6.4 Keywords
Provide 3–5 specific keywords or key phrases that represent the central concepts of the article and support discoverability. Avoid terms that are too general or simply repeat the full title.
6.5 Introduction
The Introduction should explain the research problem and significance and critically position the study within current scholarship. It should synthesize relevant previous studies, establish the state of the art, identify and justify the research gap or novelty/contribution, and conclude with the research objective(s) or question(s).
6.6 Method
The Method section must provide sufficient detail for scholarly evaluation and, where appropriate, reproducibility. Explain the research design/approach, setting and time, population and sample or participants/data sources, sampling or selection strategy, instruments, data-collection procedures, validity/reliability or trustworthiness, data-analysis procedures, and ethical procedures when applicable.
-
Quantitative studies should report population, sample, sampling technique, instruments, validity/reliability evidence, statistical analysis, and relevant assumptions.
-
Qualitative studies should report participants/informants, selection strategy, data-collection procedures, analysis, and credibility/trustworthiness strategies.
-
Mixed-methods studies should identify the design, sequence or priority, quantitative and qualitative components, and how the components are integrated.
-
R&D/development studies should state the development model, stages, expert validation, field testing, revision process, and evaluation criteria.
-
Studies involving human participants should report ethical approval and informed-consent procedures where applicable.
6.7 Results
Present findings objectively and in an order that follows the research objectives or questions. Report important processed data rather than unnecessary raw data. Tables, figures, diagrams, equations, and models should be used when they improve understanding and complement the narrative.
6.8 Discussion
The Discussion must interpret the findings deeply and critically. Explain the meaning of the findings, relate them to the research questions and theoretical framework, compare them with relevant previous studies, explain agreements or differences, and identify the scientific, managerial, policy, institutional, or practical contribution of the study. Do not simply repeat the Results.
6.9 Conclusion
The Conclusion should directly answer the research objective(s) or question(s), emphasize the most important finding or contribution, and state the principal implication(s). It should not merely repeat the Results and Discussion. Recommendations or directions for future research may be included when logically supported by the findings.
7. Tables, Figures, and Supporting Materials
7.1 Tables
-
Number tables consecutively in the order in which they are cited.
-
Place the table title above the table.
-
Use Garamond 10 pt, bold, centered for table titles.
-
Use Garamond 9–10 pt and single spacing within tables.
-
Use horizontal rules and avoid vertical lines.
-
Do not repeat every table value in the narrative.
7.2 Figures
-
Number figures consecutively in the order in which they are cited.
-
Figures must be clear, legible, and of sufficient resolution.
-
Place figure captions below the figure, Garamond 10 pt, centered.
-
All figures must be cited in the text.
-
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted third-party material.
8. Declarations and Research Integrity
8.1 Author Contributions
State the contribution of each author. JEMPI recommends transparent contributorship using the CRediT taxonomy where applicable.
8.2 Funding
Identify the funding source and grant number when applicable. If there was no external funding, state this explicitly.
8.3 Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose financial, professional, personal, institutional, or other interests that could reasonably be perceived to influence the work. If no conflict exists, include an explicit no-conflict statement.
8.4 Ethical Approval and Informed Consent
Research involving human participants, sensitive personal information, or other activities requiring ethical oversight must state the relevant ethics approval and informed-consent procedure where applicable. When formal approval is not required, authors should provide an appropriate explanation consistent with institutional requirements.
8.5 AI Use Disclosure
Artificial intelligence systems cannot be listed as authors. If generative AI or AI-assisted tools are used substantively in manuscript preparation or as part of the research method, authors must disclose the tool, version where relevant, purpose, and their verification of the output. Authors remain fully responsible for accuracy, originality, citations, data integrity, and manuscript content.
8.6 Data Availability
Authors should state where supporting data can be accessed, whether they are available on reasonable request, or why they cannot be shared because of ethical, legal, confidentiality, or other justified restrictions.
8.7 Acknowledgments
Acknowledgments are optional and may recognize individuals or institutions that contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria. Funding information should not be duplicated here.
9. References and Citation Style
JEMPI uses APA 7th Edition with the author-date citation system. Authors should use a reference manager such as Zotero or Mendeley and ensure complete consistency between in-text citations and the reference list.
-
Use a minimum of 20 relevant references.
-
Prioritize primary scholarly sources; JEMPI recommends that more than 80% of references be primary sources.
-
Prioritize current literature; JEMPI recommends that more than 80% of references be from the last 10 years, while relevant seminal works may be retained when theoretically necessary.
-
Include DOI links in URL format (https://doi.org/...) whenever available.
-
References use Garamond 10 pt, single spacing, a 0.75 cm hanging indent, and 4 pt space between entries.
