1. Article Processing Charge
JEMPI does not charge authors for manuscript submission. Authors are not required to make any payment when submitting a manuscript for editorial screening or peer review.
For manuscripts that have completed the editorial and peer-review process and have received a formal acceptance decision, JEMPI applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 125,000 per accepted article. The APC is charged only after acceptance and is not a condition for a manuscript to enter peer review.
2. Purpose of the APC
The APC contributes to the journal's publication workflow, including editorial administration, manuscript preparation and production, layout, metadata management, maintenance of the journal platform, and online publication. The APC is not a payment for acceptance and does not purchase a favourable editorial outcome.
3. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are based on academic quality, originality, relevance to the JEMPI Focus and Scope, research integrity, peer-review evidence, and compliance with journal policies. The ability or willingness of an author to pay the APC does not influence the decision to accept, request revision, or reject a manuscript.
Payment does not guarantee acceptance, accelerate peer review, shorten the editorial process, or provide preferential treatment.
4. Payment Procedure
The Editorial Office will provide payment instructions only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. Authors should not make any payment before receiving an official notification from JEMPI.
- Submission and initial editorial screening are free of charge.
- Peer review is conducted independently of payment.
- The APC becomes payable only after formal acceptance.
- Payment information will be communicated through the journal's official editorial channel.
- Authors should retain proof of payment for administrative verification.
5. Transparency and Additional Charges
JEMPI is committed to transparent fee information. Under the current policy, there is no submission fee, peer-review fee, separate page charge, or separate colour-figure charge in addition to the stated APC.
If the journal changes its fee structure in the future, the updated charges will be announced clearly on the journal website before they are applied to new submissions. No undisclosed fee will be imposed on authors.
6. Waiver and Discount Information
JEMPI does not currently operate an automatic APC waiver or discount scheme. If a waiver, discount, institutional arrangement, or other fee-support mechanism is introduced in the future, the eligibility criteria, application procedure, and scope of the waiver or discount will be stated clearly on the journal website.
Any waiver or discount status will remain separate from editorial decision-making.
7. Regulatory and Transparency Basis
This policy is designed to support transparent journal governance under the current Indonesian scientific-journal accreditation framework. Permendiktisaintek No. 9 of 2026 regulates scientific-journal accreditation and has been effective since 7 July 2026, replacing the previous 2018 regulation. Its implementation is supported by the 2026 Technical Guidelines for Scientific Journal Accreditation issued through Director General of Science and Technology Decision No. 374/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026.
The fee policy also follows internationally recognised transparency principles for scholarly publishing, which require author fees to be clearly stated, easy to find before submission, and independent from editorial decision-making.
