JEMPI is committed to maintaining an accurate and trustworthy scholarly record. Post-publication issues are handled transparently and proportionately according to the nature and significance of the problem.

Correction

A formal correction may be published when an error affects part of an article but does not invalidate its main findings. The correction will identify the affected article, explain the change, and remain linked to the original publication.

Retraction

Retraction may be considered when the findings are unreliable because of major error or misconduct; substantial plagiarism or redundant publication is confirmed; unethical research is established; data or authorship integrity is seriously compromised; or another problem materially invalidates the article.

A retracted article will normally remain accessible as part of the scholarly record, clearly marked as retracted and linked to a retraction notice.

Expression of Concern

An expression of concern may be published when credible information raises serious doubt about an article but an investigation is incomplete, inconclusive, significantly delayed, or dependent on an external process.

Article Removal

Complete removal of a published article is reserved for exceptional circumstances, such as a binding legal requirement or a serious risk to privacy, safety, or rights that cannot be addressed through correction or retraction.

Transparency

Correction, retraction, and expression-of-concern notices are dated, clearly labeled, linked to the affected article, and written to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
