Complaints and Appeals Policy
JEMPI provides a fair and transparent process for complaints about journal procedures and for appeals against editorial decisions.
Complaints
Complaints may concern editorial conduct, peer-review administration, publication ethics, unreasonable delay, website information, staff conduct, or other journal processes. A complaint should identify the manuscript or article where relevant, describe the issue clearly, and provide supporting information.
Editorial Appeals
An appeal should explain a substantive reason for reconsideration, such as a demonstrable factual error, a significant misunderstanding of the manuscript, a relevant procedural problem, or evidence that the review process did not appropriately address the work. Disagreement with a reviewer recommendation alone is not sufficient.
Submission of Complaints or Appeals
Complaints and appeals should be submitted through the journal's official Contact channel. Authors are encouraged to submit editorial appeals within 30 calendar days of the decision.
Review of an Appeal
Where practicable, an appeal is considered by an editor who was not materially responsible for the disputed decision. Additional editorial or reviewer advice may be sought. The result of the appeal is final unless significant new ethical or procedural evidence becomes available.
Complaints Involving the Editor-in-Chief
A complaint involving the Editor-in-Chief will be referred to PT Haruna Cipta Nusantara or to an independent senior editor or advisor who is not involved in the matter.
Confidentiality and Good Faith
Complaints and appeals are handled with appropriate confidentiality. A good-faith complaint or appeal will not disadvantage an author, reviewer, or other participant in future editorial processes.
